Personally - and this is not any sort of diss to other forms - I prefer the liquid stuff.  When I etch a board, I generally apply a thin coat over the traces, and immediately tin the entire board so that traces and pads remain amenable to "improvised" connections and additions down the line.  Flux pens, and other devices may be entirely suitable to various specific uses.  I like my liquid flux because I can do everything with it.  The only thing I can't do is get it out of the damn carpet below my desk!

I'm a firm believer in the pens. I tend to get messy with things that are too easy to get out like bottles. Then again I have trouble with all kinds of chemicals in tubes too like glue, thermal, silicone, grease, etc. Like you said, they get in the carpet or on me.

Floor-mat at the front entrance to my former place of employment. Oh... the irony.

Expandable spray foam insulation is the worst...  it is impossible to get off anything without banned carcinogenic chemicals!  There are stlll traces on my flashlight from the last time I used some. :)

I once had a big pool of candle wax on my concrete patio.  The only way we managed to get rid of it was to sell the house!

My apologies for derailing this thread, by the way.  I hope the original stomp switch question has been answered.  :icon_wink:

No problem. Since creating this thread (back in January) I've had quite a lot of experience with Tayda's 3pdt switches and I've never had any problems with them. I usually go for the PCB mount switches and if I need any flux, I use the (solid?) stuff in a plastic container. They're cheap and do the job just fine. :)

From my experience Tayda has cheap, but well tested components. I've never gotten anything fake and everything seems to be of decent quality. They seem to have found the best brands for the money.
