Can anyone give a clear explanation on how to do this mod to a crybaby wah ? like step by step, if you know please share the info because it is not super easy to find. looked around the internet and cant find anything that is super explicitly clear. also what exactly is this mod doing to the wah sound ? hopefully this thread will help a bunch of people.

Depends on what brand wah you have, Lorozco!!  Not enough info!

Welcome to the forum.  We'll see if we can figure out how to do it to yours.  Maybe the video, or other ones, will give you an idea of the sound...

Try here, bud. Down the page is a link to Fat Wah.     Can you identify the parts on your board that correspond ok?

All I know is you don't want a Fat Wah put on your head!

(C'mon, we were all thinking it)

hey you found it ! thanks, this one is good

here you go world
the fatwah mod for crybaby

The "FatWah" modifications to the GCB-95 circuit are shown in orange. Simply lift the ground end of the 10K resistor (marked R14 on the PCB) at the input transistor labeled "Q3" and connect it to the new 330 ohm resistor and the positive terminal of the new 10uF capacitor. Lift the ground end of the 4.7uF cap near the inductor (marked C3 on the PCB) and connect it to the new 100K resistor to ground along with the negative terminal of the new 10uF cap and you are done. The bypass switch is optional - I like the sound of the circuit with this mod so I didn't put one in.

Ya gotta get the images up here, Lorzco!!  But maybe just the link to the page is better - embedding someone else's work on here might not be cool, for copyright reasons!   ::)

You can ALWAYS re-draw the artwork, and re-write the description of something like this; but the original is the other guy's work.   :icon_mrgreen:

Thanks for wanting to share it; if it works for you, and you do the above, please do!!

What does that mod do? I have s GCB 95, did one of the simple Wampler mods, but it still sounds kind of lame
