There is a CE-1 with 2 diodes with on the pcb side. Why?

Do you have any pic?
Maybe it's for protection.
To you, buffered bypass sucks tone.
To me, it sucks my balls.

The diodes are two pairs of back to back zener diodes.

The diodes are tacked on each of the two outputs and appear to be a poor man's output limiter.

Maybe there were reports of blowing out speakers while using line level signals...and the level control cranked.  :icon_eek:
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

And what If I don't use this diodes? My output signal will be stronger?

The diodes will limit/clip the signal at a certain amplitude.
A guitar signal wouldn't  be large enough to bring the diodes to that point.
As I stated earlier...this quick fix was probably to tame the line level output.

i made my clone without them, sounds fine to me

That's right.
In other words, if I'm right: the diodes prevents the pedal start to oscillates out of control.

No...as I stated above...these diodes "turn on" at a certain signal amplitude and limit the output signal.

The diodes in question are located at the outputs and have nothing to do with the discrete multivibrator. (BBD clock/oscillator)

Hi, i'm new here, sorry if i've break some rule. There's some sound diference between the 2 versions?
