Is there a simple octave up and octave down in one pedal?

I'm aware of the problems with analog octave downs but I'm okay with it, I hate all the digitech and EHX stuff.
Ive tried these two octave-down circuits on the breadboard and I like them both.

Shocktave:

Any others I should look for?

I was thinking it might be nice to add an octave up somehow but I was wondering if there is already a pedal that can do it.
I'm thinking something with heavy fuzz and blend knobs for the octaves.

If there isn't already a simple pedal for this and I just want to blend an octave up and octave down, How do I do that? A buff 'n Blend or something?

My Brother built me a clone of the EQD Tentacle - it's an awesome octave-up pedal with a fairly low parts count. :icon_wink:

Take a look at the Madbean Low Rider, which is a tweaked clone of the Pearl Octaver.

You can also get both Octave up and down with FV-1...
Life is too short for being regretful about it.

Here is one I'm working on right now, it's attractive to me for its 1590b size.

I'm pretty sure the Tentacle is just a Green Ringer with a mod or two.  I got one of the Mark Mothersbaugh ones, signed and everything!

Thanks guys, looks like some good stuff. Some of it's a bit complex for me, I like to keep it simple if possible.
Thanks Newfish, The EQD looks like a Green Ringer, unless I'm mistaken. Green Ringer is my favorite simple octave up and that's
exactly what I plan on adding to the octave down if I can find a very simple one to try on the breadboard.
Kinki- the Guitar synth sounds great, pretty much exactly what I would like to try and make, it's nice and synthy.
EBK, Lowrider sounds the best for sure but I have to admit I am afraid of all those IC's, I have the hardest time making those
things fit into my perfboard builds.
sajy_ho- the FV-1 is an IC chip, I guess?
Jimilee- that looks great, especially considering the Pearl and Low rider sounded the best to me

If you don't mind your octaves fuzzy and synthy you could try this http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=76695.0 it's pretty simply. I haven't got any sound clips handy but it sounds a lot like the EQD Bit Commander.

I love fuzzy synthy, looks like a good one. thanks

Bit Commander and Lowrider both look promising. I don't keep those weird kinds of IC chips around and I don't have any experience using them in a build. I might have to start if I want a decent sound, I guess. I was hoping to do this with the familiar parts that I keep on hand, like transistors, diodes and TL072's.

I have been working on it, it sounds very cool on the breadboard.
Lot of noise though, so I'm hoping that's all just typical breadboard noise.
It starts by dividing the input between an almost totally normal Green Ringer and Joe Davisson's Shocktave with a few tweaks.
Both effects go to the Mix pot, then a 1M Fuzz pot with a Si Fuzz Face attached.

Sounds good... But where are the sound clips, Ben?   :icon_biggrin:
I build.  I fix.  I fix again.  And again.  And yet again.  (sometimes again once more).  Then I have something that works! (Most of the time!).

EBK

That Shocktave is pretty clever and simple looking.  First time I've seen it.

All Joe D's creations I've tried so far are very cool building blocks for experimenting with.
I need to make this into a real pedal and see how noisy it is before I can make a worthy sound sample, it's just so noisy on the board right now with a rat's nest of jumpers going every which way.

Have you tried powering it with a battery?

Edit: Not sure why I asked this.  :icon_redface:  More of a reflex at this point, like helping with computer trouble ala IT Crowd:

I love that show! There's a show I wish would just go on season after season forever.
Oh ya, I tried it with a battery but I'm just gonna cross my fingers and go for it. Almost got a perf layout ready, box layout is my standard 3-knob 1590BB for now. If all goes well, maybe I'll try a smaller box in the future... either that or just add some more knobs!
