I've been troubleshooting a Big Muff With Tone Wicker for the last two months.

I'll think I have it finished and I"ll set it down. Then I go to use it and It starts doing something like chirp like a alarm clock. I got it fixed that time but....now the tone wicker switch goes 'psssss PSSSSSSS psssss PSSSSS" every time I touch it. Its a subtle noise difference but I can tell its there. I disassembled everything and bread-boarded it. I can't get rid of the touch sensitivity. I've tried using the other side of the 3PDT switches and the problem still persists. The sustain pot did it for a bit while it was in my plastic enclosure but now that its out it doesn't do it anymore. I checked the hot and all the ground connections and all the wires onto the board. The only thing I found was a ceramic capacitor that when scratched or bumped transferred the noise into my headphones. I removed it and replaced it. Any ideas as to what my problem is?

I would get rid of the plastic enclosure for starters.  Are you playing a guitar with a string ground?  Touching the strings while you touch the toggle and pot?  If you use a metal enclosure it should be connected to audio ground, and all metal pot and switch bushings mounted to it will be also.

I'm still at the stage where I'm testing it with a mp3 player. I've tried using my guitar and the effect is still there.
