He single-handedly coded the archives back on-online!  :D

Ah shucks..... Thanks Aron.

It took a lot of work to do the conversion and I now understand all to well why these tools don't already exist in the form required here. In spite of this, the whole thing was more than worth it because it's such an amazing source of info. I lurked here for a long time before signing up.

I would like to say THANK YOU to everybody who made it such a worth-while endeavor to keep the archives accessible. This place is an encyclopedia of effects building, and a very impressive International community.

:::claps hands:::: Great work Pete. I know its not fun being a code monkey so I can really appreciate what you had to go through. Its people like yourself that keep the spirt of this community alive and thriving. :)

If you go to the php bbs forums, everyone seems to want the feature that Peter has coded.

Pretty amazing. :)

I'm probably being really dense here, but how does one search the archives?  As far as I can tell it's only displayed in chronological order, and it's not easy to skip to a page of choice.  When I use the search function, it only churns up posts from this year.  When I set it to search the archives only, it drew blanks for RG and Mark!

What do I do? (I know bugger all about computers)

Quote from: gezhow does one search the archives?

On the Search page, there is an option for which forum you'd like you search, and the default option is "All available"

Set it to "Archives," enter your search terms and you should see results.

I have found that searching by author will not return any results.  However, if you enter the author as a search term, that will work.
