How similar to, or different from, the Schuman PLL is this?

I didn't pay all that much attention to either, so I'm hoping folks will fill me in.  Not a diss of any kind, but I can't tell whether this simply refines an existing-but-rare product, or contributes something quite new.

It's Earthquaker Devices, so it's certainly going to be a sight cleaner inside than a real Schumann PLL.

It's like... an edited version of a PLL by the sound/look of it. I think it's cool they're making something of the sort available to a larger market.
