Having some *issues* with an Orange Squeezer ckt I just finished, and would appreciate some help figuring it out. I am getting a pleasant compression effect, but with the volume pot at max, and the trim adjusted, I only get about unity  gain output (seems slightly less because of compression). What causes me concern is an unfortunate wiring mistake I made in my initial assembly (late night soldering session). When I first plugged it in to test, I got straight signal but no effect. As I was poking around to find my error, I noticed the battery was quite warm. Well that gave me a good idea where to look, and to my horror I had wired the input wire from the switch to the +9v pad  :shock: .I now get the following voltages:

Battery=9.5V

Q1
d=9.54
s=1.99
g=1.23

Q2
d=1.16
s=1.23
g=0.07

IC

1=8.93
2=8.93
3=0
4=0
5=4.33
6=5.24
7=5.24
8=9.5

Is this consistent with cooked tantalum caps? I switched out the IC and Qs (5457s) with the same results. If anyone has the time, here is a link to the perf layout I used:

Thanks for any help.
