I'm planning to build the Insanity Box. In the schematic, there are 4 100K pots. Each of them has a smaller value enclosed in parentheses (). What do these mean? What's need to be done? Can I substitute pots with smaller values :?: I'm just a newbie.

Thanks for any help  .
Oh yeah!

If you've got them. It must be that these are suggested setting values, as there is mention that judiciously setting the pots [probably more than one section of the ckt is [probably capable of large gain] is necessary to aviod over-distorting.
I'd just put 100k's in there, you can always turn them down.
