CD4053 with Fuzz Face type circuit

I'm curious to know if the CD4053 bypass circuit would interfere with a Fuzz Face circuit. By that I mean, would the FF still sound right and cleanup the way it does when it's connected directly to the guitar?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Never tried it but in theory, any CMOS analog switch will buffer away the source, so it be the same as direct connection. To be certain, you'll have to rig it up.

Sorry I'm not clear on what you're saying. "any CMOS analog switch will buffer away the source" does that mean that it DOES buffer the signal which would ruin the fuzz tone?

No, a straight CMOS switch is 200 Ohms extra, which is about nothing. No buffer action.

You can use the 4053 without buffers. And it will be "fuzz friendly" , But, make shure to have the bias voltages right to avoid pops when switching.

Just searched for CMOS switch's internals. In most cases, bidirectional complementary pair. For some reason, I was sure there was some follower configuration inside.
