It's probably easier to make a list of what you have, so we can suggest you what to do with them.

If you see any RCA 6L6GC tubes with black plates, you don't want those.  They are dangerous, and can explode and poison your dog.  I manage the only certified disposal unit in this part of the country.  The service is free, but you must cover the cost to ship the deadly devices to our facility.  They must be packed with ample padding all around, equivalent to 1.5" of bubble wrap minimum, to keep the glass envelope from cracking, and the explosive, poisonous contents from spilling out.  Sorry, but it's the law.

Good selection of tubes to sort through. I haven't heard of some of them for years. I have no suggestions as what to build with any of them just yet but I'll have a think about it.

A wonderful service that you are offering there Thermionix  :icon_mrgreen: I may have to try offering that very service myself  ;)

6SN7 is a well loved type. Like a 6v heater 12AU7 in an octal base?
Look out for triode + pentode tubes in 6xx8 numbering.

Maybe because we don't know if eachone of listed type consists of only 1 piece.. :icon_wink:

6GW8, 6BM8 would have been nice, they are audio pre/power amp tubes. I'm not sure if any of those you have are close. Most appear to be TV CRT tube deflection & stuff.
http://www.r-type.org/search.php
I usually look there, but it hasn't heard of many of those.
I have a suspicion that 12BR7 can be used in low power amp output, including headphones with a suitable output transformer.
Pretty much any triode or pentode can be used to wiggle an audio signal, but many that are not well known already as audio parts turn out to be microphonic and/or inefficient heater power in comparison.

6BQ5 is good - an EL84 audio power tube.

amptramp

Don't underestimate sweep tubes for audio.  The main difference between sweep tubes and other audio output tubes is the screen grid voltage is usually limited to something like 175 V or 200 V.  A pair of 6BQ6's with a 300V plate supply and biased with a 270 ohm cathode resistor and the screen voltage regulated to 150 volts will produce 25 watts.  With grounded cathodes and a grid bias of about -30 volts, you could get 30 watts out of it.   You use an output transformer with a plate-to-plate impedance of 4000 ohms.

The 6DQ6 was a more powerful tube with a proportional increase in transconductance but the same bias voltage requirements so you could take out the 6BQ6's, replace them with 6DQ6's and get maybe 35 watts (if you can source the plate current).

Just think - an amplifier where the output tubes have plate caps and there is a VR150 voltage regulator glowing argon arc pink.  People will take notice.  It will look butch.  And it should sound pretty good, too.

Wow! That's a little gold mine!

The first oscilloscope I ever bought was the only oscilloscope I could afford, which cost me £50 and came from a radio ham. It turned out it was a Marconi 1965 valve-based beastie that weighed 25kg and doubled up as a space heater in the winter. It must have been about 35 years old when I bought it. Still, it worked ok, except for the TV triggering module which I wasn't interested in since I needed it for audio. Over the years I had it, more and more tubes in it started to die and features would drop out until eventually I retired it. It would require someone with a huge stash of random tubes including TV and CRT tube deflection stuff to ever repair such a thing....;)

PRR

Quite a pile.

Several of your numbers, I am sure you have mixed-up "6", "G", "J" etc; or "5" and "S".

"65N7" s/b 6SN7
"GAU6" s/b 6AU6

Overall, _I_ bet this is "junk tubes". Tubes pull from service as "bad". Some may not be dead-bad, but you just do not know.

Also 90% of the cost of most tube audio is NOT the tubes but the transformers, box, caps, pots, knobs, jacks.... And there are far too many types here for any single project. So in a sense: you have assorted Ferrari pistons, but that does not help much to build a whole Ferrari.
