I am needing to replace a polyester cap in a pedal I am repairing. It is 2.54mm pin spacing but all the poly caps I have in stock are 5mm, the ones that look like small plastic boxes.  Can anyone suggest a standard poly cap in the smaller size? What about the greencap ones? The value I need is 472 (4.7 nF). I am not wanting to spend masses on some specialised parts - more generic eBay if possible.

Thanks

The little greenies in 4.7n probably have approximately 5mm spacing, but the leads can be bent inward easily, unlike the box types.

I'll give that a go then.  Just measured again and it's more like 3.5 to 4mm that I have, so I'll give a greeny a go and see what happens.

Thanks

It won't work, Wayne.

Awesome.  Those WIMA caps look perfect. They are expensive though.  A 10 packet will cost more than the pedal cost me :-0.  I think I will try a greeny and see how that goes.  I can always use a WIMA later is I want to.  Actually to be honest I will probably use a small ceramic cap first because I have some of those in stock and I am eager to test this thing and see if I can get it to work.
