I don't know why it took me so long to think of this. Use a 16 pin leaf socket cut 5x5 and foam tape on the bottom of the brick to keep it in place.

The foam tape should also help keep the little tiny springs from rattling when you accidentally bump the pedal with your foot.

Nah. I have little teeny tiny workmen inside there to hold them in place.

They conduct work but not electricity.

That reminds me of circuits built by Tim Hunkin that I saw pictures of. He decorated the PCBs with 00 scale model railway figures, using the ICs as park benches and stuff like that. Really nice stuff, like a little Easter egg for anyone who took the lid off.

Perhaps his teeny tiny workmen have a teeny tiny union.

I do hope "workMEN" is a figure of speech, like "Selectman" (town committee person) is around here; and that his spring-holder jobs are open to all genders, colors, and species.

"Terminology used in the old Workmen's Compensation Act referred to a "workman", where the new labour legislation rather uses "employee" – also the more politically correct term. This left the law makers to drop "Workmen" in the Act's title and led to the current title of the COID act."

And so by creating ambiguity in that "employee" reads as any role not just "workmen" as we know it (eg. a librarian).

Like all red-blooded American capitalists I crush the hope and dreams of all my tiny workers, without regard to race, gender, size, construction methods, guys with little tiny hats, guys with fake plastic hammers, ladies with clipboards, ladies with no hats, and so forth.

Nope. No discrimination here. Everyone is equal. If you can't do your job of minimizing spring vibration, we will find someone who can. "HR. Schedule an exit interview. STAT!"

I'm a red-blooded American capitalist...shall I cry "offense!" and receive some compensation?  *shrug*

It's all fun and games til someone gets offended...

There's a term used on Thai TV programs, they say "People of the second kind" or sometimes "People of the third kind".
