Better volume knob symbols

I was wandering around on the interwebs for cool stmbols to use on pedals, am building mostly one-knob pedals, volume, the rest is set with trimmers inside. So for volume, i was searching for a better symbol. Most people o know tend to use the letter 'V' or the words loudness or volume. I found the best symbols yet, ill put one in the left and one on the right side of a knob.

Have a nice day!

Don't agree that those are the best volume symbols.

I can see what they're trying to get at, but one looks like sound is going in (that'd be called "a microphone") and the other one looks like it's coming out.  "In" and "Out" is a poor conceptual substitution for "more" and "less" in my view.

Why not have the little speaker with sound coming out (which everyone recognises as "Volume") and then just put "-" at one end of the pot and "+" at the other?

YMMV. Everyone's probably got a favourite!

I agree with Tom.  The one on the right makes perfect sense.  The one on the left makes no sense at all - wavefronts impinging on a speaker?  I'd use a version of the one on the right but with fewer wavefronts to indicate less volume.  (Which is how my lappy renders it, iirc.)

Why bother with a control label for a one knob pedal?

Haven't seen that one in a while.

I wonder if you can buy 1 through 11 knobs - specifically fender style?

Sorry not to have got the joke. I guess I've seen too many bad interface designs for it to be funny.

You're evil, Patrick. Now I'm going to have to build something that can use those... >:(
