Hey all,

I have a project in mind. I was going to get a small metal plaque engraved for screwing into the front of it. Something about the size of the face of a 1590BB. I am not sure what material to use; bronze, brass or other. Has anyone ever paid a company to engrave a small piece of metal like this - either with a design or some lettering? I am wondering roughly how much such a thing costs to see if it is in any way realistically feasible or not.

Thanks,
Steve.

Did we have a thread like this before, or was that somewhere else?  ???  No matter...  Check out trophy shops, either Google or eBay.  It's what I've used for small things like this:

I imagine you can get bigger.  Or try contacting Julian at thebeast.co.uk.  Perhaps more fancy than what you're after, but worth asking.

Cheers! Yea, I'd better just email some people. I was Googling it for a while this morning, but since these things come in all shapes and sizes etc, no website had any price point listed. I just thought maybe someone on here could give me a rough estimate on how much a small job like that would cost. Do you remember how much that little plaque costed you?

I'd probably have had my answer by now if I just emailed this morning lol. There was just so many results on Google of so many places doing them, I didn't know which to even email first. I'll try those sites you kindly linked me to!

Thanks.
Steve.

That one I got on eBay.  Looking at the size of the knobs and switches, I'd say it's about 16mm high and 50-ish wide.  It cost less than £2.  I'll see if I can find the details, but you'll find plenty on eBay searching for "trophy plaque", or something similar.

Check out precious-moments-engraving, for example.  I used these one time (trying to spread the love...) and had no complaints.

Ah ok cool - so you are talking like less than a tenner for something basic like that. Wow - thats cool.

Thanks!
