this, from another thread, might be applicable, Eric.

QuoteBy picking seeds that are separated in the maximum length sequence by a million years or so, we can be pretty sure the auto correlation won't be noticed.

Seems to be a lot like Watercress.

QuotePeople eat the seeds, or make weird beverages out of them (I consider all smoothies to be weird, but there are some even weirder chia-based beverages out there).  Not sure if the plants are edible.  Probably.
You will find out soon enough.   dia-chia!

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.

That reminds me of another joke that only Americans who watched TV in the 80s (90s?) would get (I think):

What to you call a vegetarian with diarrhea?

A Salad Shooter.

I actually have two names for this pedal now: Chia Pedal and Soil-Bender (the circuit I am using is actually a soul-bender clone).

I'm redesigning my cardboard substrate so it will wrap underneath the pedal and hopefully soak up water from a tray.  I'll be ready to try growing stuff again soon.

Edit: I changed my mind about redoing the substrate.  I'm going to try it on this one first:

Sort of looks like a massive horde of geoducks.

The geoduck is the world's largest (and most phallic) burrowing clam.

It's just starting to get green.

Maybe another day or so, then I'll attach the substrate to the pedal.

My wife reminds me that if this attempt doesn't work, we still have plenty of seeds.

I think it is funny that this ridiculous endeavor is the first pedal project of mine that she has enthusiastically supported.  :icon_lol:

So, it occurred to me that I had better put this together before it became too difficult to install the knobs.

I'm hoping the water doesn't destroy the pots or stomp switch.  We'll find out later.

Update:
So far, the water hasn't harmed anything.  Yes, I chose a green LED:
I'll record a formal demo video once the sprouts have grown more and I can fully declare success.   :icon_wink:

I've just sat here staring at this thing for a good few minutes, wondering what to make of it?  Apart from a nice salad, that is...   :icon_rolleyes:  :icon_wink:

You're totally insane, Eric.  This should be a warning to anyone thinking of joining this forum: this is what it can do to you!!  :o  :icon_twisted:  ;D

Next up, we have a tube screamer built into a bread roll...

Agreed, but now it is alive and beyond my control.  It demands that I keep watering it and giving it sunlight.
