Hi guys

This is the second time I try to build the Colorsound Overdriver and I'm having the same problem as last time. When I let a note ring out with the drive knob on full I get fuzz for the first two - three seconds then the tone rather abruptly goes into a cleanish sound with a noticeable drop in volume.

I've read the Aion Plasma PDF and tried the circuit on breadboard with biasing trimmers but I can't seem to get rid of this effect.

Anybody any tips?

Can you post a schematic? (the one you worked from...)    I would check first to make sure the transistors are right way around!

For this one there's a lot of misinformation, incorrect schematics and incorrect layouts.   There's even incorrect fixes for the bugs floating around.

The correct schematics were put up by Electric Warrior on reply #3 of this thread,

Notice the Power Boost and Overdriver are different around the front end.

You should trace through what you have and make sure it matches up with the correct schematics

Off hand, there are two areas to check,
- the orientation of the electrolytic caps
- the wiring of the parts around Q1 and Q2, and the gain pot.

FWIW, I don't think the Arion schematic covers all the cases.

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.
