hey guys, picked one of these rare beast up off the bay in total shite condition... like, so shitty, i gotta mind to send it back.
anyways, i already know the power transformer is hosed, pretty much.

gonna go thru and rebuild it i guess, expect all the electros to be bad, so will start there. i've done oil cans before, but this is the first one i'll have to do a complete teardown on. its GOOPED with bad fluid... can turn the motor over still, which is a good sign.  with luck and an ass load of cleaning, i should be able to tear it down, rebuild it and make it rock again.

but i think the bitch is gonna be finding a proper-ish transformer. looks like i need 55v and 25v dc for the majority of the circuit, the can itself i think runs right off the ac line in parallel. hoping the motor isn't completely fried from the can being gummed up. need be, rebuild that too, i guess... used to do auto electric work 40 some years ago, so imagine a coil is a coil.

anybody got any ideas as to WHAT i need to search for for a suitable transformer?

sent the guy a message, saying not sure i wanna even deal. it got banged up pretty bad in shipping, the box was open and destroyed and it wasn't even bubble wrapped inside... well, kinda was... the giant bubble bubble wrap you use for something other than wrapping a freekin pedal, anyways. the pedal wasn't even contained in the "padding".

may be fun to play with tho. i am JUST insane enough to try, but appreciate any backup... anyone else got one that i can maybe get some voltages off of?

thanks fam

The 55VDC can come from a 18V-20V AC winding. (The 25V DC is just a voltage divider.)

The lamp appears to be a 367, which may be 10V 0.040A, but that does not agree. (The doubler CT should be 27V, the lamp ~~250r, with 150r in series, makes 17V across a 10V lamp....) (Maybe a 387 28V 0.040A??)

thanks, paul... wasn't sure what to make of that!! gonna try taking the circuitry off the transformer and see if i get any kind of reading.

good call on the lamp, its a 387, 28v incandescent lamp.

this is gonna be probably the biggest repair i've tried. hoping i can get stuff running again. may have to actually rebuild the motor on it, but may be able to find something similar... i still have the adnecho ben lyman hooked me up with a few years back to compare notes if i need to.

rock on!

couple caps, new lamp, we have wah n volume. very very SWEET wah for a morley!!!

but the motor looks smoked. its crunchy to the touch, and one of the plastic bobbins looked melted and is disintegrating.

anyone know anyone good with transformer rewinding?
