In the middle of a KOT overdrive build and it calls for the MA856 diode . I don't have any of those on hand , but after measuring many of the diodes i have on hand i came across some 1N4739A or 1N4742 diodes that measure around  .702 FV .

So the question is , will either of these diodes work as clipper replacements in this application  ?

Thank for any help !

MA856 appears to be a very ordinary Silicon diode, except at currents much larger than we find in a pedal.

I suspect the radio side of the factory had an overstock of MA856 and the pedal side of the factory said "Hey! Cheap diodes!" and snagged it.
