I could use an SAD512D, the 8 pin version.  If that's what you have, I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Thanks for the offer, but I have a number of those already.  You could build an Electric Mistress with it.  It usually takes an SAD1024, but it uses both sides in parallel.

As far as I know, it is one half of a SAD1024 inside. It is the A section only. AFAIK, it was originally 16pin and the working pins of the A section are in exactly the same places. In fact, Reticon made use of SAD1024 chips with a faulty half and bonded the working half to the "A" pins in some SAD512.

As said it ought to work in the Mistress.
There was an MXR design that used the 512?

Mark Hammer

Sadly, I find that most commercial designs indicating use of an SAD 512 use the 8-pin version.  Not only does it have 8 pins, but it also included an internal divider to drop the external clock to two complementary pulses, as if there were a 4013 inside.  That was plenty convenient for manufacturers at the time, but a royal PITA for folks 25 years later trying to clone or fix things and finding that whatever is available now requires to clock input pins.

At the very least, and... if you can somehow verify it is still good.... you can get a pretty penny for that on re-sale. Can be used to repair several of the old and coveted analog delays.
