Finished my first pedal, an Electra Distortion style circuit. It's a basic 2-knob pedal. (Volume - Gain)

Here's the original. Pic is taken from a step-by-step build, sorry for the added text:

I'm looking into adding a tone knob. Possibly this one?:

I am an absolute beginner (as some of you already know). How would I incorporate this knob with my Electra style pedal?

I'm open to any other suggestions as well, but the muff tone seems to be the easiest.

Thanks  :)

put the tone before the volume...

adding a tone will drop the output though...

test on a breadboard first.  8)

After eq another gain stage (i.e another transistor) is usually added to account for the volume loss, often referred to as a 'recovery stage' As Rob suggests breadboard it first as you may find you already have enough volume even after the addition of a tone pot.

Very cool, I will give that a shot. Thanks dudes!
