One of these, along with the daughterboard to get stereo in/out on 1/4" jacks and DIN MIDI, along with a programmer, will set you back about $450.   :o  So I haven't quite taken the plunge.  Also I am reading on the Faust Slack channel that there is some problem using recent versions of Faust with the SAM (Sharc Audio Module) even though there is a specific Faust port for it.  Seems that the most recent versions of Faust generate C++ version 11 code, which the SHARC compiler cannot handle.  The humanity!

I still am holding out for some embedded doo-dad relatively free of limitations to develop FX using Faust, controllable via MIDI/OSC and having low latency and no glitches.

IIRC Larry I was going to look into the Shark DSP but the software DEV tool was only a demo that you get when you buy the Dev Board, to get the full dev software package the price was getting crazy. As well as that any suppliers of the Shark DSP's had a min order of 250 pieces. Things may be different now but at the time I looked at these the price to dev product was way too high.

Yeah, I'm not interested in going commercial.  Oh well, nice idea while it lasted.

I had a look again at the Shark DSP's and there are suppliers that you can buy 1 piece at a time.

Yeah I can get the audio dev board etc. qty 1 via Arrow or Mouser or wherever.  I'm more concerned about the state of the dev tools relative to Faust at the moment.   Not really wanting to try to deal with compiler compatibility issues.

I see what you mean about the tools, that makes sense.
Regards availability though I was talking about buying a single DSP, not a single Dev board, of course ev Boards are available in 1's  sorry if I was confusing.
