I think about the same thing, Andy.  One thing to make a person less gloomy is the realization that, though it may take decades, freedom seems to raise its head again, and people become willing to fight to obtain it after tolerating enough BS (Tytler's 'cycle of democracy' thing or something).   And there are always pockets of people desiring the same, passing it down.  In the USSR, the grandma's passed those ideas down to the kids they watched, while the parents were at mandatory Komsomol meetings, LOL.   I am also unsure how the future goes, but then - it never was guaranteed anyway!

Spring is finally beginning here after a late snow storm, which is almost all melted now.  The birds are singing and my big garden needs to be turned over and rooted, and made ready to plant.  And it's Friday, so after that, beers are in order!  And perhaps some time to play with some opamps or transistors!   Testing some amps out sounds kind of fun, too... :)

I need to say this:
Although I certainly am glad "freedom" and "rights" exist, can we please give those words a rest for a while?  I cringe every time I see or hear them now.  I'm not chosing sides.  Just choosing not to have a headache.

I'll believe it's spring the same way I'll believe the pandemic has ended: when several consecutive weeks come up with no new cases, and consistently positive temperatures.  We get a day of sunshine when it's great to go out for a walk, and then the next morning we wake up to a white lawn and yard.  The other day we had a 20-minute blizzard with huge flakes.  I have to look at the calendar to know what time of year it is.  The false alarms are exasperating.  Spring has been like a Post-it note that looks like it's sticking, but falls away when someone brushes by.  I want my spring epoxied in place, dammit!

You're right, I'll shut up :icon_wink: Very overused terms these days...

When you have to look at the calendar to know what month it is, doesn't that traditionally mean it's April? At least when I was a kid that was the rule for where I grew up. But back then we used to have Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Now it's just Clammy Wet Season and Baking Hot Dry Season. The transition between the two has been under two days for the last year. Bloody exhausting...

It sounds like you live where I do, Andy, LOL!    I presented "the weather" as a reasonable segue to another discussion! ;)   This is a good place for light over heavy, yes.

Does anyone have a schematic for a Burst Box?   ha ha ha.   Back to moving logs around in the mud.

Sorry if I'm the one to break it to you but the weather stopped being an uncontroversial topic suitable for polite conversation some good while ago. So I'm pretty sure we want to leave that to be discussed elsewhere in too much detail ;)  The Burst Box is more like it. I'm tracing an early model as we speak... All the quantai diffusors seem to be unlabeled, though, and I cannot get the goop of the paracyclical backport section.

And the holy water has probably dried up so you'll have to guesstimate the quantity. Is this the version with the direct connection to the Center of the sun?
