Are my transistors out of spec (cornish ng2 build turned out raspy)?

I built a cornish ng2 based off of the layout below that seems to be verified. It looks like its got a fuzz face circuit in there (still learning) so i'm going to assume my answer is yes to my question. but just wanted to be sure before i trouble shoot again. I built it and tested it and its really raspy and farty. all controls work and do something to the raspyness, but even when adjusting the bias trim, i don't get anything more than that. i'm using bc549c's in all positions and pulled them and measured them and it turns out they're all around 500ufe. this is going to be too much correct?

also, if anyone has built this and can suggest what diodes and transistors they settled on if they used anything different, it would be a great help.

Would you mind posting a picture of the front and back side of the board? Transistor voltages might help, too.

It is probably not helpful at this point, but it appears this layout is verified:
