So, I'm trying to build this nice gated fuzz from Fredrik, but going nowhere.

I breadboarded it and worked just fine, but when using the Vero Layout, can't get it to produce any sound.

Really can't understad what is wrong, any clues?

First of all, Welcome.. :icon_wink:

Vero layout used is one of those included in https://www.parasitstudio.se/uploads/2/4/4/9/2449159/lm311_fuzz_pcb.pdf..??

Hey Antonis, thanks for the Welcome!

No, I used this one

It's on the same page, i think

Could you post some pics of your build..??

I might be some "silly" issue, like mirroring vero..

Here they are!

I noticed the vero got a big 1m resistor going from input to ground. Any reason you could think of?

Just a pull-down (anti-pop) resistor..

Was IC correctly oriented..??
(according to vero, pin 1 should lay right down 47μF electro cap..)

P.S.
Post a complete schematic/diagram of your particular build 'cause there are some discrepancies between vero layout & your build, like 2nd pot & 2nd switch (DPDT)

Welcome!

And...buy some smaller resistors!! ;)

duck_arse

also welcome, also, no ground wire on the photo-left jack?

Agree with Stephen's good builder practice but I presume it isn't part of present non-working issue.. :icon_wink:

Hey guys!

After some swearing and thinkering, the culprit was a bad socket. The leg that suppoused to be the output was faulty. Replaced the socket, everything goings smoth and fuzzy right now;  :D

And yes, I REALLY nedd smaller resistors hahahah was my first build, didn't think there was gonna be much difference between them in size. Now I know :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Just to answer this, the second pot is a BMP tonestack. At the point of the pictures I didn't installed it yet. Now is up and runing, the DPDT just takes it off the circuit, if one finds best.

Also just for our info..

In which particular place of the circuit is BMP tonestack placed..??

Sorry for the late reply! the Tonestack is after the volume pot, before the output!
