you omitted the link...

i guess you need 2 switches for order and bypass

and a bypass of choice. you can leave out the LED's in the order switcher and use a normal 3pdt.

i think that the volume difference between the orders would be quite big tho.

the psychtar takes off where the Jawari stops in terms of gain. but they are quite similar, the psychtar doesn't need the boost up front tho, it already has a nice amount of gain.

cheers, Iain

Whoops! It seems to working now? (Maybe a nice mod fixed it for me?) OK well I've got the boost circuit mixed in now; damn, that is loud! It all works (apart from me wiring the volume control backwards (Like how do I keep doing this?) I skipped the order idea, but put a SPDT switch in so I can have the boost on its own, or the boost + Jawari.

>Ooooh what does that sound like? There's only one demo on the internet, and the person who made it says it was modified from a Psychtar - it does actually sound a bit more sitar like than the Jawari... have you ever built one?

No, that's why I'm asking you to build one!  :icon_lol:
and yes, I also want to hear how it sounds...

>is there another circuit anyone can suggest that wouldn't have loads of parts (there's not much room in the enclosure) and can do say 15dB of clean boost?

from beavis audio:

Sometimes there is a little distortion... Maybe increasing the 6.8M resistor

Thanks that boost circuit is really simple and sounds great! I used a 10M resistor (I didn't have any 6.8M resistors anyway, and it was that or a 2.2M resistor and the 10M sounds loud and clean to me :)

so still no link as far as i can see.
is the jawari after the boost? boost+octave is a great tool to have, i am planning on building an octave and boost in one as well, based on opamps since i'm more comfortable building opamp circuits.
i have never put volume in reverse, but if i would, id leave it and label it ''attenuator'' instead of volume.

cheers, Iain
friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.

Boost first, then Jawari afterwards. I re wired the pot for the boost volume correctly. It's not a deafeningly loud boost (6dB or so I think?) but it's the right amount for the Jawari, at least with my guitar. While playing with trying to see if there are any mods I could do to it (found one that turns it into a random note fuzz noise thing that is quite unplayable and disables the boost, so skipped that!) I tried a 470K lin pot as a blend between the boost output and the jawari output, and this works really well - just boost at one end of the sweep, and just boost + jawari at the other end... inbetween there is a nice midground where you get the octave up of the jawari, but you also get some longer note decay courtesy of the clean boost... which helps a lot if you play chords (the jawari isn't keen on any minor chords and it prefers major power chords or it starts sounding rather ring modulator like) - anyway with the mix between boost and jawari you can play complicated chords and get a mix of octave up fuzz and decent chord definition.
