nooo... please don't tell me so  :icon_mrgreen: it took me hours to make everything fit. Is the schematic correct instead?

duck_arse

relax, will yah? here, see, is the right circuit [and the 100k now makes sense]. see the 25k trimpot - it will allow you to tune for different devices. the fixed resistor might not get you there every time.

so, does your layout match this circuit? does your circuit match his circuit?

I am. Just kidding.

Quotesee the 25k trimpot
Yep. On the EL layout it's a 5k1 and as i said i have to test it when building it

Quotedoes your layout match this circuit?
It does.
I will try now to draw the whole pedal schematic

Thanks for your help

Here is the schematic drew by following the layout i made. Not really nice to look at but i guess you can follow it. I wasn't sure how to properly draw the 2 connected JFETs, i hope is understandable.
One image has value and the other just names. The red part is the boost.

Thanks :)

I drew the diode upsidedown. In the layout is correct though.

Stupid question... as (to me) it seems a bit useless to have twice a 0-100% volume pot, can't i just connect the CCW lug of the volume pot wiper (which has the clean coming signal from the boost) so that the volume pot becomes a blend pot between clean and clean+fx sound? Does it even work like that?  :icon_question:

22μF & 47μF in parallel without a small value resistor between them make no sense...  :icon_wink:

Thank you antonis, I just "blended" the 2 different layouts, so i don't know which things make sense and which not. How can i knew where and which resistor i should place?

antonis

IMHO, for such a circuit, just delete 22μF cap and place instead 47μF one..
(what previously said concerns circuits with power supply voltage fluctuation, due to 1st stage current consumption, inadmissible for also powering 2nd stage design - it actually forms a supply LPF for 2nd stage..)

Thank you. so just getting rid of the 22uF and leave the 47uF?
Do you mind explaining me why? I am trying to understand... Thanks

antonis

Points 1 up to 6 are (or should be) ALL at the same potential (+9V) so both 22μF & 47μF caps are effectively set in parallel, resulting into 69μF equivalent capacitance..

When joining 2 different circuits, it isn't necessary to copy every particular circuit item, like those smoothing caps..
In case of regulated supply, there should be already a (most possibly) bigger reservoir/smoothing cap..
Particular cap is only needed in case of battery powering circuit and for AC grounding purpose only..

Thank you antonis, now it's a bit clearer. I will then remove the 22uF and update the layout.
Please let me know if you see other errors  so i can breadboard it (as soon as i have all the components).
Thanks again
