I noticed a ton of posts lately about the Green Ringer, and FET doubling. Here's something maybe new for y'all.

I've been using this IC for a few years now, and it offers an interesting low parts count approach for a Ringer-style pedal.

In keeping with the original, I've made it as simple as possible, and no simpler. If you want more features, I'll leave that to you! :)

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.

Tis the green ringer season... :icon_lol:

Cool circuit, thanks for sharing...

Thanks all!

As PRR pointed out, they're a little spendy, but life's just too short to match jfets... :icon_lol:

As a side note, I believe I've seen this IC used before in some interesting compressor side-chains by Rring @ www.circuitsalad.com

So, probably useful for making envelope followers too.

You *can* make the internal circuit equivalent with op-amps, trannies, and resistors... :icon_lol:

You would have to match the transistors and get the most accurate resistors, but i think it would be worth it... probably use a quad-op-amp...
Also could replace the input JFET buffer with an op-amp buffer I think...

To the breadboard!  :icon_biggrin:

really cool chip, put one on my order list, i can't wait til they (also some other IC's) come in the mail!
to bad they are smd, it always hurts my fingers somehow.

cheers, Iain
friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.
