do you know that those red screw on connector caps are only safe with solid core and not with stranded wire?
don't want you burning your house down. might want to protect them with duck tape or electrical tape.

They have ratings for BOTH solid and stranded.

The most likely type in that picture, Ideal #73, even says "Excellent for fine stranded wire applications".

I'm just using them to cap off twisted and soldered wires.  Does that make a difference?  I'm not likely to walk away from this setup without unplugging it anyway.



BTW, is your signature from a particular song?  I'd be curious to hear it if so.

yes, here in most part of the EU, we aren't allowed to use them with stranded wire, but then again, our safety standards are stricter in every field, not just electrical.

soldered should be fine tho
