Does anyone know what brand/where to find the nice small coaxial cable that seems to be used in tons of builds - especially fuzz pedals on the ins/outs? Normally I see grey cable with blue insulated hot wire? It seems common and just the right size but I can't find it.

Depends on where you are located. Maybe try searching for UL1185 wire. That seems to be the right type.

I've been trying to find some with a black PVC jacket and blue insulation for years. I need it for restoring a Tone Bender.

Do yourself a favour and get Teflon (PTFE) insulated coax, even thinner than the pvc coax and you don't have to worry about created a short by melting the insulation during soldering. Also easier to terminate the shield because the teflon's not going to melt and facilitates a less fiddly method.

Bought Teflon/Kapton insulated coax  from here years ago and still have a good length left.

Like the stuff on the left of the circuit board and connecting to the pot:

Isn't that just blue heat shrink or sleeving like on the transistors, slipped over inner wire.

No, it's definitely shielded wire. Here's a shot of my Supa Fuzz using the same stuff:

Yup, that stuff looks different from the first picture where the blue looks to meet/overlap the black.

I've pulled the core wires from shielded wire and then fed the wire i wanted shielded back through that outer insulated shield.

definitely not what happened here. It looks a little funny in the pic, but it's shielded wire for sure. On the other end the shield has even left impressions in the blue insulation. It's the same stuff in both pedals.
