Sheetmetal guitar enclosure ideas

Please post some guitar sheetmetal ideas. I cannot find 1590b or any diecast enclosures in my country.
Im currently trying to make sheetmetal enclosure.
Post some ideas ,template ,pictures.Thankyou


P.S.Not just sheetmetal but any type of good wellfinished.

To form sheet metal into a box, you need a bending brake. Or, you can cut flat sides and join with brackets. Wooden enclosure is another option, lined with foil. Repurpose old tins or metal boxes. I've seen pedals built into old electrical fittings, even plug socket patriss. Necessity is the mother of invention.

old computer case [for the steel], hacksaw, clamps, blocks of wood, mallet, big file, wet-or-dry sandpaper. done. drill, cut wood, polish. cover metal with cloth, add knobs. and yes, plenty of brackets. and measuring. see any of my builds for how I dun it.

Welcome to the forum!  Which country do you live in?  We have members from just about everywhere, it seems.  Someone may actually have info on a supplier you can buy from at reasonable prices.

For larger builds or for housing multiple effects, I would consider a valve cover from a scrapped engine.  It is cast aluminum, has a flat bottom so you just need to cut a flat sheet of metal for the bottom plate and if it has an oil fill hole, just put in a gauge that fits for power, VU or whatever else you would want to look at.  Subaru valve covers are only two cylinders wide and they are cast aluminum so they would be good for effects.

i use old tins and cans, my favorites are from Sky Candy.


where do you live? have you looked at Farnell? they have all kinds of cool enclosures.
local electronics shops might also be a great source!

Cruise the picture thread for ideas, all kinds of ideas for diy enclosures, not going to be like diecasts but folded two piece wedges are doable, wood sides wrapped with sheet metal, repurposed enclosures, wood enclosures.

Do you have heating, cooling, or ventilation ducts in your country? There is usually a guy in every town who has sheetmetal and tools for bending metal, neatly. The guy in my town also does very pretty little "candy boxes" just to keep busy and use up small scraps.

I wish I could get a call back from the half dozen places around here that I've contacted about folded aluminum enclosures. I would love to find a reliable supplier for something similar to the Bud CU-341-A or what TC Electronics uses (likely proprietary) without them costing like a million dollars a piece. Small Bear used to have some folded anodized aluminum enclosures that were roughly 1590B-sized and for only $6 or so but they've since discontinued them.
