Just stumbled onto these soft actuation 3pdt foot switches and blingy enclosures. Anyone tried them?
Thought I'd get a couple of switches to try out

Unfortunately not  :-\. I wanted to buy one of those enclosures from Musikding but they were sold out everytime I looked at their website. But the price doesn't  look like a reason not to try them, it costs not much more than a "standard" footswitch.

Thanks for the link, I didn't know this shop. Mayb I'll quickly place an order before the new e-commerce rules in the EU come into effect on 01.07........

stallik

I'd not come across this shop either. Appears to be a one man band based in Scotland. May even be a member here? Have ordered some switches, will report back when they arrive

The Gorva enclosures are gorgeous, but the internal dimensions are slightly different from Hammond/125 so be careful there. Not tried the switches yet.

I used a Gorva 1590BB once on request from a customer, I really liked the aesthetic. You pay extra for them, but the quality is excellent, they feel well-designed. I also haven't tried Gorva switches, but I would expect the quality to be good.

Buying from Scotland...  which since Brexit is a non-EU country. For anyone interested, these parts/products are usually sold on internet and the rules for e-commerce in the EU are changing on 01.07.2021, which may result in additional (unforeseen) costs on what looks like a good deal. If you're in the EU, buying from non-EU countries (this webshop or Ali, Wish etc.) and want to know more pls reply and I'll write a separate post about this.

Grtz.

If the UK is an issue for you, there are distributors in other countries. Interestingly, the Gorva online shop lists the switches as out of stock
https://gorvadesign.com/pages/dealers

At this point, I should mention that I have absolutely no affiliation with Gorva

Hi Stalik,

No, not for me personally. But for example, if I would buy one switch from Scotland now I would pay about 5 GBP + shipping costs. After 01.07.2021 I will be charged by the postal company of courier costs for customs clearing and import VAT, which will be around 15-20 Euro's (unless the Scottish seller take care of it for me). Then my switch will be 4-5 times more expensive.

I suppose this forum will have a lot of members in the EU who buy any parts, not only Gorva, from outside the EU (Aliexpress and such), they may also run into unexpected extra costs when  they place an order with a non-EU webshop.

Love My Switches is listed as a dealer for Gorva and LMS has 13000 3pdt stompswitches that match the Gorvas in appearance and specs (but don't show the Gorva trademark or mention in the description that i noticed.)

Amplified Parts show the Gorvas in stock.

Not a lot of help for those over seas and for a Canada based company, there should be a better option for us here.

My switches have arrived and my first impression is that they are, as described, easier to switch. Less pressure is required to activate them and while there is still a reassuring click, it is quieter than the blue/black versions I've been using.

Supplied with thin metal washers rather than the ugly thick plastic one and there is far less of the epoxy holding in the terminals. Time will tell but they look pretty good so far. Proof of the pudding will be when I pop one in a box

Yeah they're definitely the Gorva switches, just with their branding on them. Love My Switches made an Instagram post about them a few months ago and someone in the comments asked if they were the same as the Gorva switches and they [Love My Switches] confirmed that they were.

I've used the switches in a few builds. They're nice, but nothing radically different from what we're used to. They're easier to actuate, and take to soldering well, which is nice. From what I can tell, they're a little quieter, definitely not momentary switch quiet, they're still stompy. I don't imagine latching stomp switches in a metal enclosure will ever be silent. None are in a pedal that has been stomped repeatedly so I can't speak to longevity but my instincts tell me they're well made.

I'm intrigued by the Gorva enclosures, those damn screw wells have messed up more builds than I'd like to admit.

I've had to grind away part of those wells in the past ::)

Never had to do it with a 4-screw enclosure. Have done it SEVERAL times with a 6-screw (1590D, etc.)

Nice find Stalik, they are just up the road from me and the UV enclosure printing service is interesting as the one thing I hate about building pedals is the screen printing,

^ I've tried those too, I think they're very similar to the Gørva switches.

I've been tempted to buy one of those $15 "super premium" switches he has for a 24 karat gold fuzz pedal. You know, all-mojo with jade knobs and a ruby LED.
