Now that I have finally gotten to the pointy where I can buidm, a =n overdrive pedal, I am wondering if people can share tips they may have on how to hold things together inside the box:

Such as: how to keep pots in place, jacks, switches, how to hold the circuit board in place etc. Much appreciated.

And what is that particular OD pedal..??

Do you want us to spill ALL our tips? That would be an expensive book.

Having trouble keeping your pots in place?

Do you have a specific tip you need?

I prefer board mounted pots.

Sometimes with switches I attach more than one together, epoxy or tape. With jacks (pots too) I like the star washers, inside or outside teeth work.

Another thing is sometimes I use heavier solid core wire to put grounds together, audio and power jack, pots (if they ground0 and footswitch. Holds things in place, a kind of armature. Like inside a guitar, those 400v caps are just to give the assembly some robust leads to hold things in place.

Thanks. I think I was looking for the level of detail that PRR provided. Thanks. That is helpful.  Sorry, meant to say Idy

Mounting the PCB to the pots is the only way to go. Saves on wiring holds the board securely. Usually it's more compact. If you can get the switch and jacks on the PCB thats great but the board needs to be larger and so cost goes up.

I dunno... excessive amounts of wire, fiberglass, and gaffers tape always worked fine for Schumann...

OK, OK... maybe not the best examples. :icon_rolleyes:
