SI/LED/GE on/off/on switch clipping concept correct?

Hey guys!

I had a concept I wanted some feedback on.

My idea is to have a switch for SI/GE clipping and a no clipping position on the switch. Then the signal would run to always-on led clippers. My understanding is that if a signal is already clipped at a lower forward voltage, (.7 for SI and .3 for GE) the LEDs (1.7 ) won't clip at all and the signal will remain unchanged. Is this correct? This would allow a 3 position on/off/on to give me: SI/LED/GE. Is my theory correct?

Just an idea...

If you want to switch between three different clipping options, you can use a DPDT on-on-on switch. Since there are two different types (Type A or 1, and Type B or 2), you can use the following configurations;

If you want to switch between three different clipping options, you can use a DPDT on-on-on switch. Since there are two different types (Type A or 1, and Type B or 2), you can use the following configurations;

However, the version of the OP also works and on/off/on switches cost a fraction of on//on/on Z-switches, at least from my sources. Just in case that is important.

+1 agree with what others have said. This works fine, but it's over-complicated compared to using a simple on-off-on SPDT.

Still, if you'd got one in the parts box and not the other, it would probably make sense.
