I have recently got super into analog audio for no reason I or anyone else can discern and I was wondering where I could get parts like 1/4 inch sockets, clicky foot switches etc from. I can get most electronic components from sites like Farnell but I can't seem to find decent quality sockets anywhere.

Welcome!

What part of the world are you in?  There are good suppliers on most continents, but international shipping can be a problem these days.

Definitely welcome!

And yes, where are you? The people around here know most of the best places to get hold of the stuff you need, so if you tell us where you are, we can point you in the right direction. Even "Europe" or "US" or "Asia" is a good start if you don't want to be more specific.

Farnell is a UK thing, right?  Also saying "sockets" for jacks.

MXR Dist +, TS9/808, Easyvibe, Big Muff Pi, Blues Breaker, Guv'nor.  MOSFace, MOS Boost,  BJT boosts - LPB-2, buffers, Phuncgnosis, FF, Orange Sunshine & others, Bazz Fuss, Tonemender, Little Gem, Orange Squeezer, Ruby Tuby, filters, octaves, trems...

Ice-9

Rapid Electronics in the UK stock Neutrik and Rean jack sockets. Pretty much the industry standard.

Sanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same result. Mick Taylor

Please at least have 1 forum post before sending me a PM demanding something.

Originally, yes, but it's a global business now. The Farnell front page offers me a choice of websites for 50 countries.

As an update, yes I am in the UK.

For the record, I'm a girl (no hard feelings by the way it's hard to tell from my name).

Tayda seems to be our usual go to for global orders.

1/4" sockets as in instrument cable jacks?
My favorite for chassis mount are the enclosed Switchcraft part # 113EX or similar like the Rean NYS2122. They do stereo & switching operation and can handle pretty much whatever pedal you're going to build.

Can't beat tayda

Good luck with your builds and welcome to the forum!

That seems to be a common theme around here. Welcome - you should fit in nicely.

Welcome jayyy__!  I get my stereo sockets from Farnell (NYS230).  Mono ones from Rapid (20-0134).

I try to get stuff from here...
https://www.bitsbox.co.uk/
These guys do try to stock audio project parts proven by the presence of germanium semiconductors and the PT2399 echo chip in the listings.
There are more specialized guitar pedal sites...

If you order from mouser.co.uk, do the parts still ship from the US (with the corresponding high shipping cost)?

Technical difficulties.  Please stand by.

If I remember rightly, there is (or was) a free-shipping threshold.  I've only used Mouser once or twice and chosen the duty-paid option to avoid unpleasant surprises at this end.
