Hi,

I have built around 15 pedals the last 2-3 years and I just built the zirconium compressor. The build documents was really bad and lacking alot. I bought a kit from musikding and every component was just thrown in random in a bag. So I just finished building it and it sounds amazing but the led won't work. I feel really stupid but I have tried different leds in case the one from the kit was broken. I have tried the long leg through the square hole and vice vers. What have I missed? Probably something silly, but since the build docs was really bad there is no guidance on how to build it.
The leds are cut of in this pic so I can try different positions.

do you have a correct series resistor value?
if you have too high of a value, it won't really light up, if its to small a value, the LED's will burn out quite fast.

cheers
friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.

cheers

On the auxiliary board there is a reference to a "CLR" that isn't populated. ;) That's probably for the resistor Iain is talking about.

LED back to front is another likely possibility. I know about this and always check and still get it wrong, somehow, about one time in three. >:(

The good news is is doesn't sound too serious. A bit of fiddling about should have this fixed shortly. :)

And for heaven's sake touch up the solder on that footswitch. Solder is cheap. We want nice connections, no daylight, fill those holes!

This was my guess as well but the documents said nothing about putting a resistor there so I thought that the resistor was already in use at the main pcb :)

Thanks:)

Bigshredder

It works now :)
Thanks for all the help guys ❤️😊
