Awesome! I'll catch it in the morning - snow storm in Maine this evening, and I'll probably be out plowing in a bit.  Good wholesome fun! :)

Awesome Jimi, thanks for that!  Yeah, I think I'm gonna try that one out in my LP.  I did the mod way way back where the volume controls don't interact...and generally play using middle switch position - I dial bass content in with my neck pup, and roll it back for lead work or more bite, etc. - just mixing them.   This seems to take that kind of idea well beyond that, ha ha.

Woman tone to c&*ked wah to full treble - love it!  If I can get some sh*t off my workbench I"m gonna put this one in!  I don't use the tones too much now anyway unless I really want a big fat throttled sound, this'll certainly do that!

I wired a guitar like this I am surprised more guitar are not wired this way.

I do like the youtube PJP posted

this is how i wire it on almost everything. comes right off the switch output. this way ya still got volume for each pickup too. don't use pin 1 of the bass cut pot. it will make it so half the rotation does nothing. take the jumper off the treble control to pin 2, with the .0022 cap between pins 2 and 3, and the output to the jack from pin 3.

thanks for the link, gus!

Any problem using the stock pots (like, is the stock value ok?)  They're not 1meg, no lol

I find blue caps sound the best. Green are too bright, and red too dark. Blue. That's the ticket. That's why all my guitars are loaded with old Philips blue axials.

That's my 2 bits, and I'm sticking to it.

A lot of this is the fact that red sounds slower due to the doppler effect. I use bluish green caps that have been faded by sunlight for at least a year and tune to 432.

Yeah, been a decade since I got in the back of the LP. I had also put in a coil cut on the bridge, on a pull pot.    500k tone pot on neck, 300k on bridge (I like the warmer tone that way).   Gotta 'refamiliarize' myself with how I set this up or I'll screw the pooch, ha ha.  Trick will be to find the spot that I can tap so both pickups will 'see' the filters.  I hate guitar wiring, to be honest.
First hunch is that if I track back from output, that is gonna be the place to tap these from at the terminal strip!
Tomorrow...

My caps are yellow.  Probably because I placed them in an antique glass vase in the window of an old wood-working shop and allowed them to soak up the sun's energy for days before installing them in 2006.  Made ALL the difference in the world!

i think i need to roll my own paper in oil caps one day, using gold foil and rice paper for the best tone. not sure about the type of oil yet, probably going to have to be some expensive spiritual oil. possibly in glass cases for extra mojo points.

its gonna run from the common of the switch back to the output jack. disconnect the two tone pots, and disconnect the output jack. use the output jack wire to connect to the treble pot. its easy/breezy!

For Iain and other oil-minded people:

I might make one of these just for fun. I have some thin copper shielding tape that would probably work quite well.

Snake oil works best.  :icon_wink:
Champaca Absolute Essential Oil is obviously the best option out there

I wonder if maple syrup would work well as a dielectric?  I'm sensing a marketing opportunity here...
