Hi everyone, despite my best efforts I could not find anywhere the heatsinks to install on these transistors so I was wondering if there was a way to solve the problem in a home way.
Thank you!

Jarno

What are you doing with them? It is likely that you do not need a heatsink.

Probably trying to keep them more stable. Are they TO-1 or different? Some of the fakes (newer) are a different case than the originals.

I'm using them in the Deacy Amp layout by Paul Stevenson, it says that it's better to put a heatsink on them because they do a lot of work.
The transistor are these:

At the moment the amp runs some equivalent that I've bought by mistake.

Side question: equivalent transistor can make difference in sound?

Thanks for your replies btw.

"Product Discontinued" but....

We routinely DIY-ed this type heatsink. Get some sheet Aluminum (or Copper), not too soft, not too stiff. Select a drill bit a little smaller than the transistor case. Cut a strip of Aluminum. Bend around the bit shank, use a vise to make the bend tight. Trim, drill.

A more elaborate sink calls for a block of Aluminum and a drill maybe a hair (0.005") smaller than the transistor. Drill, then slot lengthwise so the hole will expand a hair and fit the transistor.

Oh yeah, power amp, it does need a bit of help :)

Still have a few of them I think, are you in europe?

Thanks again guys.
I've refined my search with TO1 (yes, I'm still a noob) and I've found these:

@Jarno: I'm in Italy, if the heatsinks above will not fit, could you sell me a couple of yours?

Those are cool, but they do look exactly like someone got a bit of copper strip and started bending like Paul suggested!

blackieNYC

is the case of the transistor electrically connected or isolated?

Good question. I have seen some germaniums with the base connected to the case.

+1, killed a few that way too

@Rockaffe, I'll have a search this weekend, how many do you need?

I'd need 4

Jarno

I found two single heatsink and one double (see AC128 datasheet by Valvo) easily, so I might have some more, will have a more in depth look this weekend if you need it to be 4 single heatsinks.

Thanks Jarno, take all the time you need. I'll let you know once I've got the ones I've bought if I'll need them (estimate delivery on January).
