Hi,

Does any one know whether the Aion tube screamer (Stratus TS-9) can have both the bright mod and the fat base together?
I have made the stock circuit but the switch, (the 2nd switch) does not seem to do anything. The clipping switch works  Ok though. I put in all the jumpers in the bass and the bright positions, thinking I will get both mods but I am wondering whether this circuit will only allow one or the other?

Thanks,
isobar.

The second switch can be configured for either of the different mods, but not both at the same time. By using both sets of jumpers you're shorting two parts of the circuit together that shouldn't meet.

It's possible to wire the a 3rd switch offboard and get all 3 mods at the same time if you want, but you'd need to work out the details - where to drill for the switch so it fits, and wiring from the unused jumper pads to the offboard switch.

Thanks aion. That's what I eventually worked out. I am going to keep the fat bass and will do without the bright mod.

That would be my recommendation as well. The newer Stratus actually drops the bright mod altogether and only does clipping and bass because the bright mod is pretty useless (or at least, redundant with the tone control).
