JPTR Terror Fuzz

Has anyone tried building the fuzz pedal that is the jptr fx business card? i cant get it to work for the life of me and its not complicated at all. Perhaps just have a bad batch of lm386's. Just curious if anyone has built it and what your level of success was? thanks

I could say: three LM386 (with pin 1 and 8 connected) in series, diodes to the ground for the clipping, a DIP switch to choice the combination.
A 50k log pot (between the diodes and the ground to tame the gain, I guess) and a volume pot.
Input, coupling and output cap 100nF, and the 100uF as filter in the power supply.
