Here are 2 freely available versions of the Burns Buzzaround. In 1 the sustain pot is grounded directly and in the other it is grounded via the Ge diode. Is one correct? Does it matter?

Thanks,

Who knows? Who even remembers that far back?

It's one wire. Try both ways.

I have seen quite a few schematics of that, that's the first one I've seen with the pot grounded through the diode. I don't think that makes sense. I think it's supposed to be leaky diode to base of Q3 for bias. Can't see a reason for the sustain pot to find ground through it. I've made a few that work, and not that way.

But like the man says, it's only one wire, go ahead and try it. Tell us what you find.
