Anybody can help me with this 1/4 jack wiring?

http://jhaible.com/legacy/subtle_chorus/sc_audio_balanced.pdf

I don't understand "Switch opens when 1/4" plug is inserted". I need mono or stereo jack connector? It's very confusing to me....

thanks.

there is a type of box jack comes with one or two isolated, sometines single throw but mostly double throw, switches, which are actuated by the jack plug. those can be used just like any panel switch, can switch any part of the circuit you like. the re-ann stye plastic jacks mostly have normally closed contacts, that is, shorting/closed when no jack plugged, which then open with insertion of plug, often catching the unwary. the open frame type metal jacks also can have normally closed switches included. you don't need or want a stereo jack necessarily.

The "Input 1" jack is a standard "switched" jack like in your link.

The "Input 2" jack is NOT a common type. In Switchcraft it is "13E", "Mono, isolated break circuit"

Note Nylon button far right. When you put in a plug, this breaks the isolated contact at jack bottom (top of this schematic).

I don't want to contradict you, but inputs 1 and 2 are not the same? At last the schematic is the same...

No.. :icon_wink:

Input 2 Sleeve isn't connected to Interface ..
(although its Tip acts a switch for Input 1 Sleeve..)

I see... I think that I got it.

Input 1 jack switch is switched to ground. That is a standard configuration (is easy).

Input 2 jack switch is switched to the Input 1 switch, not to ground. That needs an extra lug and nylon bumper.

I try to draw into kicad to understand...

Looks right to me.

Thanks!

I've noticed that the pin order is wrong.

pin 1 is gnd. But I'm not sure about the other two.

original Roland SSD-320 schematic

https://www.synthxl.com/wp-content/u...rvice-note.pdf

Comparing the two schematics. The original Roland. XLR pin 3 goes to the jack tip. So, I think that the pins numbers on the Haible schematic are ok, seems that the pin distribution is wrong. What do you think?

About the jack connectors. I need they are isolated? to avoid chassis ground?
