Again, so lucky.
I got this vintage component lot for 200 dollars...
If I had some eggnog I would drink it festively.
hehe

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

I'm going to have to either hire people to sort out that box of 1/2 watt carbon comps, or buy a case of beer and do it myself!
I will also have to sort out those RCA 2n404 Germaniums for leakage, let's hope a good batch will result, they are NOS in the box.

We are waiting patiently for your compactron organ with an oscillator and divider chain for each note, followed by a compactron amplifier.  This would take a power supply that would reverse global cooling.

Now all you need is a bushel basket of 6C10 triple triodes where each triode section is identical to half of a 12AX7.

Nice score!

About those compactrons....
Are 12 pin tubes used much?
Do you see the ton of those sockets, any demand for that?

General Electric was the proponent of compactrons because it made designs a bit cheaper, as seen in the GE Portacolor TV's, the 11" TV's that were the last mass-produced tube items in the world with production going as late as 1982.  If you look at electronics hobbyist magazines from the late 70's and early 80's, you could find a number of compactron projects.  I don't see a large number of sockets in demand - I have one but I can't think of any project I want to do right now.  I have a few compactrons that I got in "basket of tubes" buys, but I have no immediate plans to use them and my list of other projects to do extends beyond my expected lifetime.  Your sockets are made for PCB mounting, so you have to figure out if you want to be among the PCB design/build experimenters on this forum.

momo

Thanks for that info.
I won't be doing any compactron in the near futur and if I would, it would take 1-2 sockets.
So I think I will try to sell this box even if probably nobody will buy...lol

I have 14 mistresses , all unique and lovely in their own ways.
I try to play with everyone of them daily!
I like the mature ones, they sing better.

The scale of those stores is mind boggling.

Some years back (pre internet) a friend of mind visited the US and went to those stores.

Having picked up 10 boxes of tubes for $50 a few weeks ago at the flea market, soon as i saw the 6C10's it was worth it, they are going for about $100 each now. Sleeve of 6cz5's, couple 12ax7, 6v6, 5y3, a lot of tv tubes and a bunch of sought after sweep tubes, which i'll probably ebay.

A few years back, i did find a website that had new 6C10's listed, for $10 each. I bought 4. After a few months i decided i would try again, i can't find the website. All i know it was someplace in Texas that was about 20 pages deep in Google.

None of that here in flea markets.
They are swept away and collected/sold at much profit on local website adds.
I have nothing against profit, I will do this myself with the stuff I won't use from this score, but I won't be obnoxious with the price.
There are some opportunities left, but they are rare, at least here .

Gold Bar Capacitors, all numbers correspond with Pico Farads pF all still very tight within tolerance. the ones marked L somehow seem to denote 100pF
