Eqd tone job as preamp for 3118 module, volume control mods

Hello,

I'm playing around with a 3118 module for a simple pedal board practice amp setup.   And have a strip board build of an eqd tone job laying around so I figured it would make a fine pre amp set up.

I'm pretty happy with the tone, but I'd like the volume to be a bit more fine tunable and less at max.   I was running the 3118 with a 9V 2a supply through a 1x12 cab and had to to the barely turn it to get audible before it was beyond comfortable practice levels when the kiddos are sleeping.

Could I just lower the volume pot value to accomplish this.  Would there be any drawback to using a trim or picking a resistor value and then just adding a voltage divider style volume
Control before the power amp.

Thanks

Use a 10k trimpot for R10..

FWIW, I'd use IC1.2 for VREF buffering..

Maybe change R10 to a 15k fixed resistor and it's done.

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.
