Hi all,

I'm currently designing the artwork for a bassballs I'll make. As for the attached concept, I'm looking for some alternative names for the below functions, which I think fellow baseball fans here may help me with. As a Turkish resident, I'm not familiar with the Baseball culture  :icon_rolleyes: Blue circles are representing the pot knobs I'll use.

Attack,
Decay,
Sensitivity/Response,
Low,
High,
Dist./Grit

I don't know baseball either, but how about having a look through this lot? Certainly plenty of options!

Yeah, I'm currently digging thru Wikipedia for that already, yet I would like to hear something from the real supporters as well.

Low hanging fruit? Maybe I should join bluebunny outside... it's too hot to wear a coat though!

More sensible suggestions (from a non Baseball person) - Home Run, First Base, Bomb, Bat Flip, Dinger, Slugger?
Mushrooms in Shampoo -  Amidst the Ox Eyes - our new album!

I'm not much of a baseball fan but there is the term "pinch hitter" which seems better suited than most associated with the sport.

That's a fun circuit when you open up the tone shaping with the Hammer mods.

Attack, = Barrel (gotta hit it there for a home run!)
Decay, = Bunt
Sensitivity/Response, = Pitch clock (these days)
Low, = ground ball
High, = Fly ball
Dist./Grit = hustle (or Dodgers, you know, the best team)

My two cents

I called mine the bassticles. And yes, I did draw a scrotum on there... C'mon! The ad did say "Add balls to your bass"...!

That, and it tickles my bass... Hrmph.

You could make it a Bass (the fish - have a graphic on the pedal) Balls. Fishing theme pedal! Never seen those but... Do fish even...? Idk...

EDIT: Your graphic already looks good though. Did you get the LED to work and react to picking strength?

Haven't started with the actual assembly yet, I got a concert this Sunday, so I'll start afterward. I thought about that activation LED with the below sketches to the eye of the fish, yet the current one seemed more... I dunno..Better?

Meanwhile, I've finished my Muff and waiting for its sticker to arrive. And here is how it looks

Here's the current version, yet yours seem also neat! I'll make an alternative version! Hustle is a good one for dist.

Hammer = attack
Knock = sens
Lagger = decay
low & high ball = low & high
empty one is dist., couldnt find a name but Hustle is a good one.

I'll also add an LED somewhere.

I (USA all my life) am trying to read Raffles, books from the UK in 1898 about a gentleman cricket player (who also steals stuff). Even the narrator says that cricket slang is incomprehensible.

You've got great ideas for it. Feel like it'd be cool if you worked in "peanuts" or "crackerjacks" to represent the fans...could do Away for high and Home for low as that's how the teams show up on the scoreboard. Oh shoot, you could just use top and bottom as the way they call the two parts of the inning.

I'm impressed at the graphics and creativity! Very cool.

Yeah, the baseball theme fits too well not to use! The slang labeling is great.

I don't come from Baseball Land (though we do grow up playing the similar game "rounders" in the UK), but maybe the sequence of events involving the baseball would make sense. E.g.
"Pitch" for attack,
"Bat" for sensitivity,
"Base" for decay,
"Dugout" for low,
"Stands" for high,
"Bribe" for distortion?

> "rounders" in the UK

Wow! I think that has been censored from colonial memory!! We know that Abner Doubleday invented baseball from whole cloth in 1839. (Apparently an invented myth; no evidence that Abner knew this.)

Rounders is bat and ball and bases, 9 players per side. Different batting ritual, separate bases for batting and going-home, dimensional difference like you'd expect in a different land.

There were (US) pinball machines with baseball themes; might be inspiration.
