I just ordered a pile of parts for 2 klon klone centaur-type pedals

My goal for one of them is to add a Fender blackface/twin type tonestack filter.  I have attached links and would like your opinion on where to put it.

My filter will be a bit different the link  (270pf treble cap, .022uf bass cap, .047uf mid cap, fixed resistor for bass 470k, and also mid 6k8)

I was thinking the filter would replace either C3 (coupling cap after the first buffer stage), or C9 which is after the second stage

Hi & Welcome.. :icon_wink:

Blue circled Tone control above should be the proper place for Tonestack placement..

P.S.
Do you really want to have two Tone controls..??

I think I will just be a lurker here - I am not a fan of answering 7 verification questions to allow me to reply!

The tone control in the klon is based around 400hz and is after the clipping diodes.
Normally a Fender type tonestack is at the front.  And yes I will keep the tone control and with the fixed bass and mid in the added filter, a treble control remains, and in front, will behave differently than the 400hz tone control at the end.
I am leaning toward changing the first TL072 to having 6-10db gain (vs unity gain) to account for the loss introduced by the tonestack.  And replacing the .35V diodes with something higher, maybe up to a red LED, for more clean headroom.
THANKS

Phaezamp - persist with the answering, please. it only lasts for a few some posts [stick it out, take note, tell us how many]. it's either some initial inconvenience for real people, or a shitstorm of arseclown ai and spambots.

and they don't know nothing good, won't even welcome you to the forum. bastards.

Usually, loss comes first and recovery follows.. :icon_wink:
