Suggest a pedal that uses a Wah inductor (that’s not a Wah)

I tried upgrading a DIY boomerang Wah to a red fasel inductor but decided I prefer the old red tdk inductor I was using originally. So I have a spare inductor... looking for pedal build suggestions I can use for this inductor beyond the obvious Wah or fixed/%^&*ed Wah.

Thanks!!!

Nothing specific comes to mind, but it's GONNA be a filter of some sort  :icon_biggrin:

Pickup simulator, that kind of thing.  Maybe something you can build in front of a fuzz...

MXR Dist +, TS9/808, Easyvibe, Big Muff Pi, Blues Breaker, Guv'nor.  MOSFace, MOS Boost,  BJT boosts - LPB-2, buffers, Phuncgnosis, FF, Orange Sunshine & others, Bazz Fuss, Tonemender, Little Gem, Orange Squeezer, Ruby Tuby, filters, octaves, trems...

It doesn't necessarily have to be a signal filter.  A lot of power supplies could use an inductor as well as a capacitor.  It just remains to be seen whether you have an application where the current drain is compatible with the inductor.

1. Sell it to someone who thinks Fasels are an upgrade.
2. Get something you actually need.
3. Profit? ;D

You could do the Craig Anderton Passive Tone Control... just leave off the coil tap part.

Thanks for the good suggestions all. I think I might start with the tone section of the Jext Telez White Pedal and see how it goes after some of my existing pedals.

replacing the (R6) 220R resistor in a TS-style filter circuit by a physical inductor could be considered by some as an overly expensive mod ...

MXR did the gyrator version but a real coil sounds best here and is less noisy

series capacitor can be stepped to provide 12 separate Q frequencies

enjoy!

(In your curve tracer video,

you call the inductors 3.1H but 3H1 is the Philips/Ferroxcube material.
The new video fixes that up.

Cores are P18/11 with a center hole.
The 1.7H is probably ungapped.
I'm not sure about the 350mH. It's probably just the same core and the same wire diam and
less turns but there's a small chance it's a different wire diam and a gapped core.
You could work out the construction of the windings from the DC resistances.)

You are the master of inductors.  :icon_biggrin:

If I said 3.1H in that video, I was having a brain malfunction.
My memory ain't what it used to be.  :icon_confused:

I've got a bit of a headstart - doing that stuff for over 40 years on and off :icon_mrgreen:
