Thank you Antonis for a very good and thorough explanation i always love and learn from (and sometimes even print out). But i guess i was ... right? Since the Re is not shorted it is basically a mess of parts in parallel with R1 which must result in something lower than R1.

Actually, the only configuration in which Collector output impedance really plays essential role is when Q1 serves as current source..
