PCB mounting method

I believe you have misunderstood the design, the pots are not inserted into the PCB. The pots are connecter with stranded wires, so no strain will ever be present at these connections.

Oooh, so you are mounting the pots to the enclosure and hanging the PCB off one (more?) pots via the strap+screw? Yeah. This was not clear from the pictures. You said "use your imagination", after all...

I thought that, in the final product, the metal strap would just lay along the enclosure surface.

Sounds 100% overkill =)

Also, if the strap is similar to the ones we have here, a blow to the enclosure could bend the strap.

I'd just do what Boss does. That, or epoxy glue the screw/plastic mount to the enclosure.

Several pots, and no blow to the enclosure will ever bend these straps.
