USB C JACK TO USB C JACK ROUND PANEL MOUNT ADAPTER

I was thinking that these USB C jack to USB C jack round panel mount adapters could be used with an internal lithium 9V to have a rechargeable pedal. Not sure if the hole would be too big though.

At 30 mm diameter, I doubt this would work with many enclosures as it is designed as a panel-mount device but I have always favoured the idea of a rechargeable battery and USB sounds reasonable since you could charge it from a laptop or a car 12 volt lighter plug to USB plug.  If there are concerns about which way things get plugged in, you would need a LED with series resistor and diode to show you the correct orientation.

You would need the appropriate charging circuitry with charge control and indication of full charge because lithium batteries have their own peculiarities.

The standard 9 volt battery was a convenient piece of technology left over from transistor radios of the 1960's but these things are getting expensive and replacement during a tour can be a hassle.  Rechargeable batteries also eliminate noise and grounding issues from AC supplies and also allow for recharging from sources all around the world.

FYI: USB-C is more than just a power source.  There are some modes which are set by resistors then some other modes which are done by negotiation.  You will also need to add your own charger circuitry to charge a battery.  It's very confusing so I don't remember all the details.
